Crowdstrike is a type of cyber security company. It recently released a driver update to increase the security of Windows 11. There was a massive bug in this update. Due to this more than 8.5 million PCs crashed and got stuck in the boot lap. This is the biggest Windows outage in Windows history.
Considering Alternatives to Prevent Crowd Strike’s Driver Outage
Crowdstrike was trying to protect the Windows kernel from threats through driver updates. However, due to the bug available in its update, all Windows users had to face problems.
But considering all these things, Microsoft can make big changes in the kernel system of Windows. In which it can stop giving access to third-party apps. For this, there will be an attempt to add additional features.
So that in the coming time, all the windows do not crash due to any one update. Microsoft is considering this.
Microsoft is now thinking about making new changes to this. In which:
- They can limit the access of security companies like CrowdStrike to the main parts of Windows.
- Microsoft wants people to start using Windows’ own built-in security features.
- They are asking security companies to be more careful and find ways to protect the computer without the risk of such a big crash.
- Microsoft is planning to work with some companies to find safe ways to test and release updates.
- They are considering new Windows security technologies that are more secure and more reliable.
- Microsoft is promoting a programming language called Rust more. Which is very useful in preventing some types of computer errors.
Microsoft wants to make Windows more secure. Due to this, it is trying that we do not have to face this type of problem again in the future.
It does not want Windows to crash again, it is trying to keep it stable. For this, it is considering alternative options for security.
