ByMicrosoft has released the February update KB5051987 (24H2) and KB5051989 (23H2/22H2) versions for Windows 11 users, which have included many new changes and features. You can also update this update directly from the given download link.
This new update started rolling out on Windows 11 on January 28th and has been made available for both versions.
Windows 11 (24H2) KB5051987 Important Changes
This is going to be primarily a security-focused update. It includes important security patches to protect your Windows system, although Microsoft has not given details of specific changes and features in this release. They have also released a servicing stack update (KB5052085) that helps us ensure that future Windows updates are installed properly. Current known issues:
Roblox Gaming issue:
- Players using ARM-based devices cannot download or play Roblox from the Microsoft Store
- There is no solution available at this time
OpenSSH connection issues:
- After installing the October 2024 security update, some users cannot start the OpenSSH service.
- This mainly affects business and education users.
- The SSH connection service fails without showing a detailed error message.
- Manual intervention is required to run the SSH process
Citrix compatibility issue:
- It affects devices with Citrix Session Recording Agent (SRA) version 2411
- The January 2025 security update may fail to install
- Users may see an error message saying “Something did not go according to plan”
- The system will revert to the previous update
- This mainly affects organizations using the latest version of Citrix SRA
Windows 11 KB5051989 (23H2/22H2) Changes:
If we talk about the updates of these versions of Windows 11, then all the security updates of January 2025 have been included in it. An important problem of Hyper-V backup has been fixed. Along with this, where the backup was getting delayed. Now there is no problem with that. It also carries forward all the improvements from the previous Windows 11 version 22H2.
