Microsoft has acknowledged a problem with Windows 11. Some Windows 11 Insiders in the Canary and Dev channels have noticed an issue with their PCs not shutting down properly even after installing the latest build 26085 update. This month, many big updates have been seen on Windows 11, whether it is the Moment 5 update or the features of the new Build 22635.3420.

According to Microsoft, this was to fix a known issue in the Build 26085 update. Where using the “Update and Shutdown” option was not actually shutting down the PC once the update process was complete. But it seems that this fix is not working for all users. Still facing the same shutdown issue even after applying some updates.

Microsoft has said that they are aware of these reports from Insiders who are stuck on Build 26040 or Build 23620 and are unable to shut down their PCs. The company is actively investigating this issue. But in the meantime, they have provided some workarounds for affected users who are trying to move to the latest build in the Canary or Dev channel.

Microsoft Gave Solutions to the Shutdown Problem

If you are facing this shutdown issue and want to run your device on the latest build. you are recommended to download the latest Microsoft Windows 11 ISO file and then do a clean installation. But clean installation will erase all data and applications from your PC, so it will be important to take a backup.

Windows 11 Build 26090 Update, Microsoft has acknowledged this shutdown problem and also mentioned that they have seen reports from some insiders, on this the company has said that they are working on a solution to this ongoing problem. But no time limit has been given for this.

Some users have also suggested temporary solutions such as disabling certain services or restarting the PC before attempting to shut it down.
