Windows 11 24H2 Update: KB5046740 sees games, printer, audio & update installation problems

Microsoft’s latest Windows 11 24H2 update KB5046740 was released a few days ago. However, it has become a source of disappointment for many users. They are facing problems in gaming, printer connectivity, and audio systems, and some users are also facing problems in system installation of the new update.

Microsoft released this new version of Windows 11 24H2 on 22 October. However, problems like errors or system installations are being seen in its new version KB5046740 installation.

If you try to install this version again and again, then you are going to see a notification to repair the system. If you are shifting from the first 23H2 to the new version 24H2. Even then you may face the problem.

Problems with Games, Printers on 24H2

But if you are using the 24H2 version, then problems are being seen in games like Star Wars, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. If you have problems like a black screen, the game crash.

With this update, USB eSCL scans are experiencing device detection failures. Driverless scanning is done to detect printers and scanners via USB or wireless network through the protocol. But now it is not working on 24H2.

Microsoft has changed the way the audio decoder works. Due to this, the pre-installed Dolby Audio decoder has been removed from Windows 11. Due to this, problems have started appearing in it.

For this, the driver has to be installed manually. ASUS has also acknowledged this problem. Dell has reported significant shutdown and hibernation issues when the Dell Encryption app is installed. Due to this, the computer is not able to shut down properly.

The only solution for all this is to use the stable version 23H2. Be it gamers or audio problems. Many problems are still being seen on 24H2. But fixes can be seen in the coming time.
